In August 2020 the center received a significant gift from The Menard Family. In an open letter to the University of Nebraska community, the Menard family said, “A seminal part of the college experience is hearing from people who have a diversity of viewpoints and track record of creating value for others. At Menards, we want to give more students the opportunity to have that experience and to develop a lifelong love of learning as a result.”

The Nebraska Governance and Technology Center (NGTC) was founded in spring 2020 with a gift from the Charles Koch Foundation and their press release is available here.

Additional gifts and grants have been received from Richard Varner, an alumnus of the University of Nebraska, and his family, and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation. Learn more about our Knight Foundation support here.

NGTC faculty and leadership maintain complete academic freedom and integrity in our research endeavors. NGTC is grateful to our generous supporters, and ensure our programming and initiatives remain staunchly unbiased and objective.
