The Nebraska Governance and Technology Center (NGTC) is pleased to announce the winners of its second annual Student Writing Competition.
The theme for student writers was “how technology regulates.” Technology regulates human conduct in many ways. This can include being designed to either enable or prohibit activities, or being used to control activities directly. Digital platforms’ content moderation changes our information economy and democratic society. The Student Writing Competition welcomes topics such as these, as well as related themes.

Papers were judged by NGTC faculty with input from the NGTC academic advisory board and editors of the Nebraska Law Review.
Launched in 2020, the NGTC studies the ever-changing relationship between law and technology, and the issues faced by society in a technological world. The Center is housed in the College of Law, and collaborates with the Nebraska Colleges of Business, Journalism and Mass Communications, and Engineering.
